// lol … Google.mu is now in Creole, maybe its not new thing as I always used Google.com. Check here.
Update:
Rofl …. Was wondering why “Morisya” !!! It was a mistake ..

//Yep … Collecta is the latest entrant in the search wars. Its a realtime search engine, means it scans the Internet, searching through news stories, status updates, blog posts, Facebook micro-blogging sites such as Twitter, blogs comments and other sources. Collecta was built based on the open messaging standard XMPP.
Its not like the other search engines, use Collecta only to search for “hot-topic” (what is happening right now) like iPhone, Ubuntu, Windows 7, etc. and the results are impressive. I spent some time playing with the sample pages and wow, the posted search results were really up-to-date(less than a minute). Results came from Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, blogs and everywhere else.

“The web is alive with real-time information. So why search a stale archive? Collecta monitors the update streams of news sites, popular blogs and social media, and Flickr, so we can show you results as they happen.” says on Collecta website in a note.
Another insteresting feature is that you can leave multiple searches running simultaneously to receive a continuous stream of results. I think its one of the best real time search engine on the web for the time being. Check it out.

//Yeahhh, Facebook will soon(tomorrow morning) allow its users to choose a personalise web address for their profile page. Now we will have our real names to share and connect with friends. A nice move by Facebook. This way your friends will have an easy-to-remember way to find you. Facebook users will have the option to claim variation of their personalise URL on a first-come, first-served basis. Tomorrow you will have to be very fast to be the first one to choose the name you want. Here’s the countdown before the launch.
.
Reserve Now
Here is a request form for businesses that want to make sure their trademarks are reserved. This form can be used to prevent your trademarks from being registered as usernames.
Example
Instead of ”www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=541320719” (littered with numbers and random letters). You will have something like “www.facebook.com/username” which is easier to remember.

Yepp, its really time for a change. To change your Facebook URL, click here. Get Ready, only 10 hours left, set your timer …

//…. still busy with assignments, ok let’s go for a quick post. What is Wolfram Alpha? Have you heard about it, hmm … its a movie? a new operating system? a robot? a search engine? Guess !!
Well Wolfram Alpha is a new way to get answers from the web, they called it the “computational knowlegde engine”. Wolfram Alpha engine will be able to process questions people ask in natural language like “What percentage of the human body is water?”. Instead of returning links to pages that may contain the answer to your questions, this search engine will respond with the actual answer.

Don’t get confused, its not like Google search engine. Google is not intelligent, the following search results make Google to appear intelligent but its not the case. These values have been fetched from a database.
1. One dollar in mauritian rupees
I think Wolfram will have the ability to reason based on information about the subject and to understand natural language. In a blog post Stephen Wolfram said:
”Getting computers to deal with natural language has turned out to be incredibly difficult … Wolfram Alpha …With one simple input field that gives access to a huge system, with trillions of pieces of curated data and millions of lines of algorithms”.
Will Wolfram Alpha be a sucess ? Lets wait and see …
How they are different from Google?
They are not trying to index the web, instead they are trying to compute data(knowledge) of the web using natural language algorithms. Wolfram computes answers, it doesn’t look them up in a database. It allows someone to ask scientific(technology, music, weather and more) questions and it compute the answers.
Wolfram Alpha is built on top of 5 million lines of Mathematica code running on top of about 10,000 CPUs.
Who is behind this computational data engine?
Stephen Wolfram, a British physicist, mathematician and businessman known for his work in theoretical particle physics, cosmology, cellular automata, complexity theory, and computer algebra. ~ From Wikipedia
He built that engine based on his previous research and works Mathematica and A New Kind of Science.
Visit WolframAlpha … Launching May 2009 … I’m excited to test this new engine. If(it’s a really big IF) this really works, its going to be a big thing.

What is POP3?
Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3) is an Internet standard protocol used by local e-mail clients to retrieve e-mail from a remote server over a TCP/IP connectionWhat is POP3? It is a protocol that allows almost any e-mail software program that you’ve installed on your mobile phone or PC(if supported by your device and e-mail program) to get messages from your e-mail inbox on the web and deliver them in the designated program. ~ From Wikipedia
.
Concerning the new design, its half the size of the previous version, looks weird and ugly(long rectangle shape). I greatly preferred the previous design over this one. The controls are no more found on the device but in a small remote found on the standard earphone cord. The sound quality from the standard earphones is very poor, mushy sound at times and the earbuds, aiee aiee … hurt the ears after long use. Users will be forced to use the standard earphone as all the controls are attached to the earphone cord. I think it’s going to put a lot of people off.

Conclusion
The prior generation iPod Shuffle looks far much better than this one. Hurray, my old iPod Shuffle(2nd generation) still rocks, I used the Sony Ericsson earphones with it, the earbuds offer deep bass and the sound quality is incredible. Note that the old version of iPod Shuffle will still be available according to Apple… go for the old one. Happy Independence Day !!

In real serious terms, if any corruption of data, hardware damage or any other kind of damage/losses/etc. arises from the use of this tutorial, I will not be responsible for it.
Step 1: Increase the number of Max Half Open TCP connections
Let’s starts, Windows XP limits the number of connections a Bittorrent client can attempt to establish simultaneously at any given time. The default limit in Windows XP is 10, its a barrier against virus multiplication(to slow the propogation of worms) but its also drop torrent speeds considerably, as torrent needs a large number of simultaneous connnections.
What is Half Open TCP Connection?
A half-open connection is when your computer has requested a connection to a remote computer, but has not received an acknowledgment back. If the remote computer is overloaded, it can take some time for it to acknowledge the request, during which time your local connection sits there, half open. Eventually it will time out.
To change this limit:
For Winblows XP Service Pack 2: Download Patch Here
For Winblows XP Service Pack 3: Download Patch Here

Note: This patch modifies the TCPIP.sys file in Windows to allow a higher number of TCP connections.
Step 2: Set the number of TCP connection in uTorrent
Note: The number of “net.max_halfopen” is set lower than the value set in TCPIP.sys.

After these two steps, you should notice a considerable increase in speed(of course if you are downloading a file with with a good number of seeders).
Step 3: Changing the Protocol Encryption in uTorrent
When enabling protocol encryption, ISPs find it difficult if not impossible to detect that the traffic is coming from BitTorrent. I’ve enabled it but I don’t know if this setting has contributed to the increase in speed. Yep, logically you should get better speeds with encryption disabled.

Step 4: Don’t forget to change the “Connection Type”

Conclusion
After running through each of the above steps, you should get a nice juicy download speeds. If you don’t see the green icon(as shown in the picture below), then something is wrong with “Port Forwarding”, check out the steps again in the tutorial to try solve this problem.

If you click the title of the result, you’ll be shown the following warning:

At first I thought that the problem was on my computer (maybe a virus or spyware), I logged onto my second PC, googled again, same problem. Even if I search for the word “Google”, I got the same message. Damn, Google went down, Google’s Search was completely unusable.
There are many possible explanations: Either Google went down or every server on the Internet becoming infected (lol… can’t be). Maybe Google servers were hacked (lol… why not) but one thing is sure, the problem is from Google side. Seems to be a major Google bug. Hope everything will be solved soon.
Update Saturday 31 January @ 20:11 (GMT+4):
Just Google It! …Google Seems to be coming back to normal. What happened to cause these false warnings? I will answer to it as soon as Google gives an explantion

Update Saturday 01 February @ 7:30 (GMT+4):
It was simply an error, human error. Here is the official explanation from Google (Marissa Mayer).
